its gonna be a long long entry.
be prepared!
was away in China from 25th Feb to 1st March.
Tiger Airways delayed my flight due to technical problems.
and probably due to the heavy rain too, since our flight was delayed for almost 5 hours.

this was what kept me entertained during the almost 4 hours flight.

hmm, i guess i was fat even before my China trip.

Haikou Airport- Welcome to Hainan!

we were supposed to reach Hainan at 4.20pm but due to the delay we only got there close to 9pm.

its was very cold there cause winter had only just ended.
we were there to visit my grandparents' relatives.
went back with my grandparents and one uncle.
this is where i slept when i was at my grandfather's side.

my xiao baobei! i love her- she's just so cute!
she was shy and refused to let me carry her or play with her during my 1st day there.
after that she warmed up and looked forward to our time together everyday (:

this is a small "temple" for the 土地公.

there is this wall plague showing all the donators' names that made the building of this temple possible.

my dad's name is up there!

we lived in the villages there so there are fields everywhere where the villages planted their food and vegetables.

its not rare to see 牛 there. they are used to plough the fields.

Hainanese pray to our ancestors.
their ashes are placed at on top at every house.

after praying its a tradition to have firecrackers. you don't see that in Singapore!
this is the aftermath.

coconut trees everywhere~

residence of my grandmother's side.

another temple.
they pray to the God that looks after the village, and also the 土地公 here.

setting up the firecrackers.

my grandmother's side has 2 doggies.
i love feeding them under the table at every meal. (:
after their mini feeding they will be fed their own meal.

wearing 3 or 4 layers of clothes was not enough to keep me warm.
see how wrapped up i am? i look like a ba zhang T.T

you can find piles of chicken feathers on the roads.
villagers believe by letting the feathers be trod on, the chickens they rear will be healthy and good.

went sightseeing.

it reminds me of Sentosa.

thanks for bringing us around, 舅公!

waves coming in.

and went out to sea!

do you see it?
its a squirrel!

squirrel eating banana.

this is where they practise windsurfing for competitions!

my last day on Hainan Island was spent with them.

the one in brown windbreaker is my uncle, and the rest are my China distant relatives.
thank you all for making my trip wonderful.
esp Granny, for paying for my trip. (:
living conditions aint good there since we lived in villages but i will want to go back again definitely.
hope there will be chances to.
im dead tired.
i will blog again tomorrow!
