nearly had a heart attack in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
forgot to blog about it in the previous post.

i was eating instant porridge while studying my CT on my lappy.
dont know it was due to my fatigue or my clumsiness that somehow, i knocked over the instant porridge.
and the porridge spilt over my keyboard >.<
i panicked.
saw that my lappy was still working, so shut it down.
its a blessing that i bought IBM instead of other brands during the I.T Fair.
why?
spill-resistant keyboard.



IBM ThinkPad keyboards are sealed and sit inside of a tray so that spills do not get to the electronics underneath. Now this doesn't mean the T43 is waterproof and 100% spill proof by any means (liquid can still get in the vents if your aim is really bad), what it does mean is that if you spill some water onto the keyboard then you'll have time to tip up the notebook and pour the liquid out before it seeps down into the internal components of the notebook.

damn lucky i tell you!
i was shocked and for a moment i stared at my lappy in horror, not knowing what to do.
then remembering my keyboard keys could be removed one by one, i started clearing as much porridge as i could without having to remove the keyboard keys.
then i removed the keys from the affected area and wiped them clean.

i couldnt fix some of the keys back in the midst of my panic.
msged Evan to ask him what i should do lol. and he made me feel alot calmer.
i broke the latch of my right Ctrl key while trying to fix it back :(
but somehow i managed to put it back although its latch is broken.
it still works fine.
however my right Shift key..i dunno what i did to it.
now its not very responsive anymore >.<

but still, its a great blessing my lappy survived!

on a lighter note,
i hope my lappy dont smell like duck porridge now.
